Meet Katherine

K.Martin3 (1)

Katherine is passionate about lending her time, skills and resources to fight for justice and equity in order to help all God’s people experience an abundant life.  She works full-time and volunteers with organizations committed to doing the same.  Recently, she decided to add blogging to her pursuits as a way to get all the racing thoughts in her head out, to give her love of writing a permanent home, and hopefully create a space for others to process some of what they are learning in the world around them, too.

Katherine has always had a love for writing but other than her graduate school admissions essay being chosen for Princeton's Review’s Business School Essays That Made a Difference, she has mostly written in her private journals or helped her nephews with college essays!  It was in 2018 that she felt called to share a piece of her story with others, her "spiritual awakening" to what it meant to be a White person in America trying to "act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God."  This calling has culminated in a book which she hopes will help other White Christians recognize their privilege and steward God's resources to help create a more inclusive and equitable world.  (See Book tab for more info!)

Katherine lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, three kiddos, and a chocolate lab. In addition to spending time with her family (the one she was born into and the one she helped create), she loves hanging out with friends, traveling, winning games, and running with a good podcast in her ear.  Katherine enjoys supporting other women in their entrepreneurial pursuits, mentoring the next generation, and belting out a good praise and worship song, even if in the comfort of her own living room. She doesn't really like social media, which she has recently learned is problematic if you want to sell books.

"Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn't know before you learned it."
